Good Shepherd
Jesus, our Good Shepherd, knows His sheep by name and His sheep recognize His voice and follow Him. Our Good Shepherd leads, restores, comforts, protects, and sacrificially loves by laying His life down for His sheep (John 10:11-17, Psalm 23:1-6, Luke 15:4-7). The “Good Shepherd” special project aims to support local partners and their current ministries to share the gospel to those that do not know Jesus’ deep love for them as their Good Shepherd.
In addition to bringing the gospel to those that are lost and in need of the love and hope of Jesus Christ, we also hope to support, build up, and encourage the current one percent of Christians in our country, which includes our local ministry partners. By nature, this project aims to support local people and independently operated organizations in a time of need, when a specific need for outside help has been identified. This could include anything from special events to basic running costs, such as: food, electricity, agricultural projects, transportation, building maintenance, staff, English classes, materials, special holiday events, vacation bible school, etc.
For example, there are plans to build a chicken coop at a local youth center we partner with, which would offer a new protein source for the children living there and serve as a learning opportunity about basic chicken care for both the children and visiting local pastors. The interactions created through this project will naturally foster relationships and allow opportunities to share and demonstrate Christ’s love with others.
