Drs. John and Laurie Day

Laurie was raised on a cattle ranch in the foothills of California, and John grew up in southern California.  Both attended vet school at the University of California at Davis, graduating in 1987 (John) and 1989 (Laurie).  They met in vet school when they were both working in the Vet Extension Mastitis Lab (how romantic!).  In 1990, they moved to Idaho, and for 29 years, they owned and operated a dairy-exclusive veterinary practice emphasizing reproduction, nutrition, mastitis control, and employee training, with Laurie supervising the milk quality laboratory.  In addition to veterinary work, both served in leadership within their local church, and went on several CVM short-term trips in Asia and the Caribbean.  John also served on the CVM board, and had been helping veterinarians and veterinary students deal with their student debt at numerous CVM and CVF sponsored talks.  Laurie also trained and socialized puppies to become guide dogs for the blind for 38 years.  After the Days’ three children left the nest, they sensed God calling them to long-term service.  They moved to Ulaanbaatar and joined Mongolia V.E.T. Net in September 2021.
