Dr.Joan Kolb
Joan Graulich Kolb, DVM grew up working on her family’s dairy farm in upstate NY, then attended Cornell University for both undergrad and veterinary school. She was a member of the Class of 84 and married her classmate Jerry Kolb in 1985. They settled into working at neighboring, but not competing mixed animal practices. After 3 years of large animal calls, she made the change to small animal practice (which used the Syracuse emergency clinic during off hours) so that they could raise their family. They have 3 grown daughters, two of which are local, two sons-in-law and 4 grandchildren. She is very active in her community church in various roles, including worship team, child care and special events. She retired in early 2025 and has been able to join a women’s Bible study and volunteer for their lake preservation foundation and local food bank. With Jerry, she have been on 6 missions trips: one to El Salvador with their church, and 5 to Nicaragua, Honduras, and Tanzania with CVM. She hopes to venture to India for a mission trip in the future and looks forward to growing in her faith and serving God’s people.
