Dr. John Coatney
Dr. John Coatney was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After graduating from Oklahoma State University’s CVM in 2005, he served as an Army Veterinary Corps officer in Italy, Chicago, and Iraq. John and Kristen were married in 2008. After the Army, John pursued degrees in theology and biblical studies at Wheaton College. In 2014, they moved to Ames, Iowa, where John worked on a PhD in Veterinary Microbiology. In 2019 they moved to Mekelle, Ethiopia, but had to return soon thereafter due to COVID and a civil war. They have four boys – Charlie(8), Easton(7), Judah(5), and Titus(3).
