
Dr. Jim Watson
Jim Watson grew up in the Philippines where his parents were missionaries and his father, an agricultural missionary, established a training center for poor rural farmers. He then returned to Mississippi where he attended Mississippi State University, graduating from the 2nd class in the veterinary school in 1982. Dr. Watson spent 16 years as a large animal veterinarian in Central Mississippi and in 1998 became the State Veterinarian. In July of last year he ended 12 years of service as an officer in the Veterinary Corps of the US Army Reserves.
Jim has had a life-long passion for sharing Christ through the use of agriculture and veterinary medicine in many countries, and has been involved with CVM since its inception including serving on the Board of Directors.
He lives in Madison, MS with his wife Vicki where they attend Broadmoor Baptist Church. They have 3 married children and 8 grandchildren (one set of triplets).
