Dr. Jane Vermeulen
Dr. Jane Vermeulen is a veterinarian, municipal councilor, mother and military wife in the Victoria, BC area. She founded Vets for Pets-Victoria over 10 years ago and provides free veterinary care to over 60 pets a month on a consistent basis to homeless and low-income pet owners. As the program has grown and relationships with the pets and their owners have developed, Vets for Pets has also worked with local veterinary clinics to ensure that pet owners are able to offer their pets a humane and dignified euthanasia when needed. Jane has also partnered with the local SPCA to provide monthly donations of pet food, pet accessories and information.
