Dean Hendrickson grew up on a farm in Northern Montana, and received his DVM from Colorado State University in 1988, and completed an Equine Internship at the University of Sydney Australia in 1989. He then completed a Large Animal Surgery Residency at Cornell University in 1992. He spent 3 years as a faculty member at the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has spent the last 27 years at Colorado State University, first as an equine surgeon, then Hospital Director for 5 years and Associate Dean for 2 years and has been back doing surgery since July 2014. Clinically, his interests are in Equine Wound Care, and Minimally Invasive Surgery. Personally, he has been married to his wife Amy for 37 years, and has three children; Andrew (34 and Married to Haley and has a 8 year-old son Malachi and 5 year-old son Ezekiel), Graham (33 and Married to Nikki and has a 2 year old son Leo), and Maggie (28 and married to Sean and they are expecting in March).
