Dr. Cathy Wright practices in a small animal and exotic practice in Red Deer Alberta. She graduated from WCVM in Saskatoon in 1980, went into mixed animal practice initially, but after children arrived, made the switch to small animals, exotics and wildlife. Throughout her career she has pursued her passion of educating and sharing through teaching. Educational opportunities included the dog handlers at the R.C.M.P training kennels, the Animal Health Technology program at Olds College, medical officers in Kenya and most recently students at UCVM. Cathy has been involved with humanitarian groups through trips to Kenya, Haiti, and a couple years ago to Costa Rica with CVM, all of which provided her with more education and insight than she could have ever given back. Cathy is married, loves to spend time with her husband and their two amazing adult children, and in spare moments, walks and cuddles with their golden retriever and ragdoll kitty.
