St. Thomas, USVI

DVMS and veterinary students with small animal surgery skills are needed in St. Thomas, USVI! We are rarely asked to come and serve in the U.S. Virgin Islands, so this is a new trip for us. You will be assisting our host as they seek to make more relationships in the community where they live by running a spay/neuter clinic and possible wellness clinic. There is a need for veterinary services, and we are hoping that this trip will create inroads for relationships to be built and Christ to be shared.

Click "Express Interest" if you feel called to this trip!

Trip Leader & Host: Dr. Tracy Williams

Dates: August 11-17, 2026

Vet Work: Part of the trip will be doing spay/neuter surgery at the Humane Society. Clinic days generally have 50 appointments for surgeries scheduled (more if they have more vets). You will also plan on scheduling wellness appointments for vaccines/ flea/ heartworm prevention. Heartworm disease is very bad here. They have fleas/ ticks year round because of the temps. It is the hope that this can help the local host launch the community wellness clinic side. We will be busy!

Ministry Work: Much of our work will be in ministering to the community members who bring their animals to the clinics. You will also be conducting outreach through the local church and fellowshipping with the local believers.

Number Needed: 1-2 DVMs and up to 8 Vet Students; Non-vets and family members are allowed if space permits.

Local Partner: Dr. Tracy Williams lives in St. Thomas and works as a vet in the community. She has both led and volunteered on numerous CVM teams over the years.

Event Cost: $570 (not including airfare to/from Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas); You will have a free day for exploring a local beach and possibly snorkeling. The cost of this is may be included in the cost of this trip, but that will depend on how many people enroll. More info about that will be given later.

Additional Info: U.S. residents do not need a passport to travel to the U.S. Virgin Islands.

You will be staying at the hospitality center in the Reformed Church of St. Thomas located in downtown Charlotte Amalie (within walking distance of several historical buildings). You will have a free day for exploring a local beach and possibly snorkeling/sunset cruise. See above for details on the pricing for that.
