South Asia (SECURE)

Dates: March 13-22, 2026
Vet Work: You will be helping to provide livestock training (caregiver's training) focusing on the management of animal health) The team will conduct several veterinary clinics where there will be deworming, pregnancy verifications, and treatment of farm animals (mostly cows, buffalos, and poultry).
Ministry Work: You will help to mentor the local vets and staff of Vetnet as well as the local workers. You will show hope and love through your actions and relationships with each other and how you engage with the people you come in contact with. You will be mentoring the youth and spending informal time with the local community.
Needed: Vets, Vet Techs, and Vet Students are needed! 3-5 Veterinarians, 2-3 Veterinary students; 5-7 team members are needed in total. The trip is open to DVMs, students, technicians and other resource team members (family). No children are allowed. A nutritionist is especially needed.
Cost: $1,380 (international airfare not included); All veterinary students are eligible for a 50% scholarship toward your trip costs and airfare. Volunteers age 70+ will need to purchase their own insurance outside of CVM. For this reason, these volunteers will see a slight decrease in the CVM trip cost.
Additional Information: We will be working in a very remote area of West Bengal where people have little access to outside help. They depend upon livestock for their livelihood, but they lose animals every year because of a lack of veterinary service and training.
