Peru
Travel to Peru to serve with CVM in May 2026! DVMs, Vet Techs, and Vet Students are needed as we begin this new short-term trip. This service opportunity will take place in Pucallpa, Peru and will consist of a rabies/vaccine clinic as well as providing surgical training for the local workers in this tribal region. We pray this trip will grow your faith and allow you to engage in vet work to assist in building local relationships.

Trip Leader: Dr. Dan Marsman
Local Partner: Dr. Giuly and Casey Kidd
Dates: May 17-24, 2026 (read Add. Info. below)
Veterinary Work: Hold clinic days in isolated tribal villages to treat dogs for rabies, parasites, and to give vaccines. You will also provide surgical training for Giuly and her colleagues on hernias, otohematomas, mammary tumors, and more.
Ministry Work: We will be working alongside the local host veterinarian to help evangelize the pet owners and encourage the local churches by demonstrating the love of Jesus.
Max Group Number: 10 maximum; 1-2 DVMS, up to 8 Vet Techs and Vet Students; children are not allowed
Cost: $1,170 (not including international or in-country airfare); Volunteers age 70+ will need to purchase their own insurance outside of CVM. For this reason, these volunteers will see a slight decrease in the CVM trip cost.
Additional Information: Casey and Giuly have been working with tribal groups for over 10 years. Casey focuses on theological training in villages while Giuly, a veterinarian, treats animals. Animal care has proven to be an effective evangelistic strategy amongst the tribal communities. There will be mostly dogs and cats, but likely monkeys, sloths, and other jungle animals as well. Those who speak Spanish can help focus on evangelism when the vet clinics are taking place.
Volunteers will need to arrive in Lima for the 11:00 AM flight to Pucallpa on May 17, so you will need to leave on late on May 16 from your home country. Coming back, you will leave Pucallpa around 4:00 PM on May 24, getting to your home country on May 24 late or May 25.
