Nicaragua (VetRed) 26-11a
Do you want to serve on a cross-cultural short-term mission trip team? Do you want to immerse yourself with Spanish-speaking veterinarians and practice your Spanish (with translators present of course!)? Join a group of veterinarians from VetRed, CVM's Latin American Global Affiliate group in Bolivia, our host veterinarians from Nicaragua, and vet students from Nicaragua on a short-term mission trip to Nicaragua during the last week of November. Spanish is not required as we will have translators available during the trip, but you will likely be speaking some Spanish before the trip is over!

Trip Details: The purpose of this trip is to encourage Bolivian veterinarians to grow in their passion for missions and sharing God's love through veterinary medicine outside of their home country. We also want to strengthen our partnership with the ministries associated with Global CHE Ministries throughout Central America while encouraging Nicaraguan vets and vet students to share God's love through veterinary medicine.
Participants Needed: There are openings for 3-5 veterinarians (large animal vets especially needed), vet students or vet techs from the US to partner alongside Bolivian and Nicaraguan veterinarians and vet students from Nicaragua. Spouses and children can also be considered for the trip - please contact the trip leader for more details concerning spouses and children.
Vet Work: This trip will be a hybrid trip of learning about spay-neuter campaigns in the Nicaraguan context and culture for 2 days followed by 4 days implementing what has been learned from our interactions with our host vet. Vet activities will include a spay-neuter clinic, wellness clinic for small and large animals. If needed, large animal surgery may be done.
Ministry Work: The four work days of the trip will be spent partnering with FIEMCA (a Nicaraguan-based evangelical church who is part of the Global CHE Ministry Network) at Iglesia - La Gran Comision located near Diriamba, Nicaragua. We will be ministering and praying for those who bring their animals to the clinics alongside members from the church. We will also have time to engage with church and community members during meal times and evening activities.
