Mexico
CVM is excited to invite you to take in our new mission to Mexico! We are looking for DVMs, vet techs, and vet students who have a heart for Central America and who would be willing to take part in a new trip! If you have a desire to serve in Mexico, we might have the opportunity for you. We are looking for small (mostly) and one large animal Vets and Vet Techs to travel with us to Cuernavaca, Mexico as we support a local partner in this region.
This team will be lead by Dr. Marina Conner, a TAMU grad and Texas-based vet. The trip involves a combination of veterinary work and evangelism. Visit the homes of local families to build relationships, learn about some of their challenges and successes, and pray for the community.

Dates: June 20-27, 2026
Local Partner: Rene and Gloria Bustamante with Elijah’s Project, Inc. (headquartered in Yuma, AZ and operates two locations within Mexico with various local ministries)
Vet Work: Most of the work is small animal (primarily dogs/cats), but there is some large animal work that might be done if a large animal vet volunteer attends. We may be in rural areas where many residents own livestock, primarily hogs, cattle, and horses/donkeys, although dogs/cats are very prevalent. Rabies vaccinations are generally done by government clinics. Expect that once the message gets out that a veterinary team is in the community, several dozen residents will bring many animals to your group. It will be common to vaccinate and deworm several dozen dogs and conduct spays and neuters on a few more.
Ministry Work: There will be many opportunities to worship with believers, either in churches or homes. The veterinary work provides opportunities to share the Gospel. Be prepared to share your testimony in various settings. Also, the Mexican people are delighted with things such as Polaroid-type instant photos, Gospel-colored bead bracelets, Bible verses, etc.
Number Needed: 2-4 DVMs and Vet Techs, up to 5-6 vet students; maximum 10 volunteers; Non-vet volunteers are permitted if space allows
Event Cost: $1,050 (airfare to and from Mexico not included); Volunteers age 70+ will need to purchase their own insurance outside of CVM. For this reason, these volunteers will see a slight decrease in the CVM trip cost.
Additional Information: There will be a half or full day of going on a tourist activity in the area. More information about this will be provided later.
