Kenya (BOSCOVET)
Vets, Vet techs, students, and family members are welcome to join us as we support our local partner, the BOSCOVET PROJECT, for this short-term missions opportunity in Kenya. Space is limited, so sign up now!
The team is led by experienced trip leader Dr. Dan Haskins and involves a combination of veterinary work and evangelism. Visit the homes of local families to build relationships, sing songs, learn about some of their challenges and successes, and pray for the community. This has been an ongoing annual outreach since CVM's initial assessment trip was conducted in 2009.
Dates: January 15-29, 2026
Trip Cost: $1,240 (not including airfare); Volunteers age 70+ will need to purchase their own insurance outside of CVM. For this reason, these volunteers will see a slight decrease in the CVM trip cost.
Vet Work: Vet work on this trip includes vaccinating, deworming, dehorning, examining sick animals, training in basic veterinary medicine, our second annual cat and dog spay/neuter clinics, animal husbandry, and nutrition for cows, goats, chickens, and pigs.
Ministry Opportunities: Some of the most important work that will be done on this trip will be the work of the heart….encouraging, praying for, and building relationships with the people in the communities being served. The team also will visit the BOSCOVET Hope Academy to visit, work on some small projects, and play with the approximately 400 children enrolled there. Sunday mornings are spent participating and sharing in the worship services at two different churches that are affiliated with the members of the Boscovet Project. The BOSCOVET team each year, through donations of medical supplies, equipment, and diabetes test kits, also supports the Masongo Medical clinic which provides prenatal care and emergency services.
Additional Details: Non-vets (spouses, children over the age of 10) are encouraged to join the team. We will stay in a nice hotel in Kisii with breakfast and dinner included. We will travel to different locations in the countryside each day for a variety of purposes.
An optional overnight game safari to the Masai Mara is available. The cost is TBD but usually around $550/person depending on the number of people going. The $550 is all-inclusive of driver, guide, transportation, meals, and lodging. This cost is not included in the overall trip cost.
