Honduras CE (Large Animal)

Are you a veterinarian and looking to earn CE in large animal while serving internationally? We have the service trip for you! CVM is offering a short-term mission trip with 15 hours of RACE-approved CE! Spend a week in Honduras learning from Drs. Kelly Crowdis and LeeAnn Berglund-Fosdick to gain valuable CE focused on large animal vet work in an international setting. Click “Express Interest” for more information!

The team will work with Pastor Dario Delarca and CVM missionaries, Corey and Kaethe Gallagher. Come prepared to serve the people of Honduras and be a part of this fantastic team!

Dates: March 18-26, 2026

Veterinary Work/ CE Topics Covered: 5 Lectures and Labs (15 hours) of interactive RACE CE.

  • Cultural Sensitivities (1 hour) – Kelly Crowdis
  • Do I Bring My Own Medications or Not? (2 hours includes field trip to vet pharmacy) – Kelly Crowdis
  • Techniques in Field Medicine and Surgery in Developing Nations for Horses (4 hours; 1-hour lecture, 3-hour wet lab) – Kelly Crowdis
  • Techniques in Field Medicine and Surgery in Developing Nations for Ruminants (4 hours; 1-hour lecture, 3-hour wet lab) – LeeAnn Berglund-Fosdick
  • Techniques in Field Medicine and Surgery in Developing Nations for Swine (4 hours; 1-hour lecture, 3-hour wet lab) – LeeAnn Berglund-Fosdick

Ministry Work: Assist local pastor, Pastor Dario, with outreach to villages around Olanchito through veterinary work; opportunities for evangelism at every site. Ministry opportunities to children in the communities as well!

Max Group Number: 8 DVMs; Vet Techs will be considered, but there will be CE available.

Cost: $1,130 (does not include international airfare); Volunteers age 70+ will need to purchase their own insurance outside of CVM. For this reason, these volunteers will see a slight decrease in the CVM trip cost.
