Guatemala
We are looking for volunteers who have a heart for Central America and who would be willing to take part in a newer trip to Guatemala! If you have a desire to serve in low-access areas, we might have the opportunity for you! We are looking for small and large animal Vets and Vet Techs, and Vet Students to travel with us to Guatemala as we support a local partner in this region.
This team will be lead by Drs. Paul Rudenberg and Amy St. Denis. The trip involves a combination of veterinary work and evangelism. Visit the homes of local families to build relationships, learn about some of their challenges and successes, and pray for the community.
If you are interested in serving, please click "Express Interest" today!
Dates: October 24 - November 1, 2026
Local Partner: Global CHE Enterprises and its Guatemalan partner, ASODECS
Vet Work: Support local communities through both small and large animal clinics. You will help with handling animals and giving anti-parasite medicine, vaccines, vitamin complex, and other medicines. You may also help local community members build their animal homes and pits. You will possibly perform castrations and a spay/neuter clinic.
Ministry Work: Volunteers will visit homes and interact with the community, pray for families, teach about animal husbandry, and help with more vet needs.
Number Needed: 2+ DVMs and Vet Techs; maximum 9 volunteers; Non-vet volunteers are permitted if space allows (preferably ministry volunteers to work with local pastors)
Event Cost: $1,400 (airfare to and from Guatemala not included); Volunteers age 70+ will need to purchase their own insurance outside of CVM. For this reason, these volunteers will see a slight decrease in the CVM trip cost.
Additional Information: Tourist attractions nearby include Antigua, Lake Atitlan, hot springs resort near Quetzaltenango, souvenir market, and more.
