Costa Rica

Team members will participate in remote trips to rural communities. Vet work will include small animal spay and neuter clinics and goat vaccinations. You will play an important role as you come alongside local ministries to help build relationships within the communities. Come prepared to serve and be blessed through your time in Costa Rica!

Dates: July 18-25, 2026

Local Partner: Dr. Bob Wilmarth and Mission Challenge

Trip Leader: Dr. Lee Ann Berglund-Fosdick

Vet Work: Large and small animal clinics (vaccinations, spay and neuters, and some treatment also) in an impoverished community along with vaccinating goats through the "Goats for God" program.

Ministry Work: Building community relationships and supporting the work of the local ministries, along with some work with children.

Number Needed: Vets, Vet techs, and Vet Students are needed!

Max Group Size: 25. Minimum group size of 15 people.

Cost: $1,200 (airfare not included); Costs may slightly need to increase if a local veterinarian needs to be hired. Volunteers age 70+ will need to purchase their own insurance outside of CVM. For this reason, these volunteers will see a slight decrease in the CVM trip cost. Bring additional funds for souvenirs and shopping if you wish!
