Cambodia (Phnom Penh)
We are starting a new service opportunity to Cambodia! We are looking for small animal DVMs and Vet Techs to travel with us to Phnom Penh, Cambodia as we support a local vet clinic in the city. The hosts' goal is to develope a long-term partnership where the relationship between the volunteer and the Cambodian staff is deepened over time.
The dates are flexible, so let us know if you would be interested during another part of the year!
You will work in the PAW Global Veterinary clinic, supported by the co-owners, Pauline Sng & Joyce Tan, while there. This is a slightly different trip than you might see posted. The goal of this trip is to conduct training for the local veterinary staff, support the workers through hands-on instruction, provide support and ideas for growing the outreach, and much more. The lead vet is also a Christian.
After the trip dates below, you are welcome to stay a few extra days for sightseeing. Continue reading below to check out our "Additional Information" section. Come prepared to serve the people of Cambodia and be a part of this fantastic new opportunity. If you are interested in serving, please click "Express Interest" today!
Dates: May 3-16, 2026 (clinic dates are May 4-8 and 11-15)
Local Partner: PAW Global Veterinary (Facebook)
Vet Work:
Number Needed: Up to 4 total small animal DVMs and Vet Techs; Non-vet volunteers are permitted if space allows; Children are not allowed
Event Cost: $620 (airfare to and from Cambodia is not included); The required evisa is $30; Volunteers age 70+ will need to purchase their own insurance outside of CVM. For this reason, these volunteers will see a slight decrease in the CVM trip cost.
Additional Information: The host will be present for the full two weeks for orientation and introductions. The local vet is also a believer. She can be an interpreter and provide veterinary support. For accommodations, there are 3 rooms with 2 beds each and attached bathroom in the clinic. The clinic is on the main street, so very accessible to food and transport and amenities.
For tourism, the beaches and waterfall are beautiful, and Siam Reap is 2 hours away. There are quick 1-hour flights to Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore and many other South East Asia countries.
There is a great local supermarket very close by for convenience. You can get imported foreign groceries too (just more expensive). There are several churches around. The Potter House is only 5 mins up the road lead by a pastor from the USA.
Lots of café and restaurants nearby that use US currency. Drinks are between $1-$3. Food is between $3-$8 on the average per meal. You can often do lunch with the staff (vet doctors) for around $1.50. It is very economical if you want to do that and not go to a restaurant.
The hosts, Joyce and Pauline, are Singapore believers who travel to Phnom Penh monthly. They have collaborated closely with the one and only veterinary university in Phnom Penh (Royal University of Agriculture) with the Dean and the head of the University Hospital. They also try to generate income sales by selling pet products such as food, supplements, and shampoo. They will be around to welcome and settle the team in PAW Global. They are starting a new “Mission” PAW Global in Indonesia soon!
