Our family is planning a vision trip to Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, to prayerfully discern whether this is where we are being called to serve long term. During this trip, we will explore housing and schooling options, meet with our ministry partner, begin to build relationships with local indigenous Mayan families and community leaders from the K’iche’ and Mam people groups, and participate in hands-on service projects. Our goal is not only to observe, but to listen and learn as we seek to be obedient to God’s will—trusting His direction and stepping forward in faith, even when the path isn’t fully clear—while discerning how our gifts might best support the people and community.
