“Being the light of Christ means shining even when the way is uncertain.”
Keep Shining for Christ with your year-end gift.
For Dr. Corey and Kaethe Gallagher, much of the journey has been uncertain. Through exploring multiple career paths to navigating the ups and downs of marriage and faith, CVM has been privileged to walk alongside them."Our journey with CVM began in 2006 at Ross University, whereby God’s providence we were drawn to the campus church & CVF group. Because of faithful friends who were obedient to share the light of Christ with us Corey was saved and baptized in St. Kitts in 2007, just before transferring to Iowa for the remainder of his schooling.
In Ames, God continued to write our story. I (Kaethe) was saved and baptized. Corey became part of the professional CVF group, and in 2010 we took our first CVM mission trip to Nicaragua. This mission trip changed our lives and opened Corey’s eyes to how the Lord wanted to use his gifts as a veterinarian for God’s glory. We saw God do miracles and experienced the wonder of the global Church.
After that first short-term trip Corey felt called to long-term missions. We prayed about it, asked our pastor about it, and even completed the workbook “Send Me! Your Journey to the Nations.” But I (Kaethe) wasn’t yet ready. We continued to go on CVM short-term mission trips to Nicaragua, taking our kids with us.
In 2011 Corey purchased a vet clinic back in Wisconsin so we moved “home.” We continued to stay connected to CVM. Every mission trip reminded Corey of his call to long-term missions, but we now owned a clinic. Though it was difficult, this season of waiting and praying was not a waste of time. The Lord was using us to be the light of Christ where we were, growing and maturing us in our walk with Him through many different avenues.
Fast forward 10 years, and we are now long-term Fieldworker candidates with CVM! None of this is by our hand, but by the Lord, whose ways are higher than our ways and whose thoughts are higher than our thoughts. Being the light of Christ means shining even when the way is uncertain. It means being faithful to do what He is asking you to do for the time and season you are in.”
CVM exists to walk alongside veterinary professionals in every season of life as they live out their faith through their profession. Your prayers, gifts and participation in CVM ministries bringing the much-needed support and everlasting Hope that comes from knowing Christ to veterinary professionals and the communities they serve around the world.
Thank you for your faithful partnership that allows these ministries to continue. Please consider making a year-end gift to CVM today to help share the light of Christ to many more in the coming year!
