Who I Am

Dr. Gina has been involved with CVM since the 1987 Urbana Missions Conference. Through the years, she has participated in short-term mission trips, served on the CVM Board of Advisors, and most recently served on CVM staff as Director of Affiliate Ministries.

Her late husband, Steve, passed away unexpectedly from cardiac arrest in Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya on June 13, 2023.  He grew up on a farm in Kansas and after graduating from Kansas State with a degree in agriculture, the Lord called him to seminary and pastoral ministry.  Steve had served as a pastor for over 2 decades in roles focused on discipleship and building biblical community before moving with his family to serve in South Sudan.

Steve and Gina have four children: Hazel, Abraham, Josiah, and Cyrus.

My Work

Their ministry focuses on partnering with the churches of Torit to disciple and equip young adults to go out to the rural villages and beyond as disciple-makers and church planters.  Jesus met both spiritual and physical needs; Steve and Gina sought to do the same through the Kingdom Builders school and agricultural ministry.  By utilizing Gina's veterinary training and Steve's agricultural experience, they helped to give the South Sudanese skills and knowledge needed to increase their crop harvest and improve their animal husbandry so that they could provide better nutrition for their families and communities.

Gina is currently serving at Rift Valley Academy in Kenya where her two youngest sons are finishing high school.  She will travel regularly to South Sudan to encourage the national leadership who are carrying on the ministry at the Kingdom Builders school.

My Partner

Gina's local partner is Africa Inland Mission (AIM).
