Who I Am

Margaret Thompson became involved with CVM through Christian Veterinary Fellowship. She had been a Christian less than a year when she started vet school. CVF met a huge need she felt for Christian fellowship. God called Margaret to long-term veterinary medical mission work during her first year of vet school. She thought she would be on an overseas mission field within 3-5 years of graduating. But God, in His wisdom, kept her in the USA to raise her two children. Now He has given her the opportunity to work long-term in Tanzania.

My Work

Margaret's role in working with a dairy goat ministry in Tanzania is to build relationships that allow her to pour God's love & His Word into the lives of the recipients of the goats. She comes alongside the recipients and teaches them to take better care of their goats so that they have improved reproduction and milk production. She will continue to help in the training of "paravets" and teach some government veterinarians surgical skills. She will provide advice and oversight to the development of a breeding farm.

My Partner

Margaret is seconded to Food for His Children, a ministry that seeks to expand God's kingdom through a dairy goat ministry. Recipients are taught basic goat husbandry & conservation farming, prayed for, given a Bible, and challenged to be good stewards of all that God has given them. Because livestock are the bank account for the poor, as their dairy goat herd grows they are enabled to pay school fees and purchase medicine. The marginalized gain respect as they work in community with other recipients.
