Dan & Charlotte Paulsen

Send a Note Start a Campaign

Who we are:

Dan and Charlotte will be serving in Romania.  They have 3 daughters and one grandson.  Dan was very active in CVF as a student at Kansas State University and later was the faculty mentor for CVF at LSU.  He was in mixed animal practice for 8 years, then completed a residency and PhD in Veterinary and has been a professor of veterinary pathology for 33 years at 2 universities.  Charlotte is a Medical Technologist and “retired” to a full-time mom after the second daughter was born.  She also has done extensive volunteer work with Crisis Pregnancy Center, Baton Rouge Music Club Chorus, and Bible Study Fellowship.

Both Charlotte and Dan have been active on their church worship teams.  With their church, they have had more than 15 short-term mission trips, primarily to Romania, but also to Guatemala, Haiti, and others.  Recently they have had 3 trips with CVM, short term mission and vision trips to Romania and Africa.  Obviously, they have had a call to short-term missions for many years.  The call to long term missions was unique: God spoke to Dan in a very distinct voice that they were going to the “mission field” long term.  Therefore, they have only the choice to rebel or go—they are going!

Our work:

The work will be multifaceted.  Dan will be a professor with the Veterinary School in Iasi and the first priority will be to revitalize the CVF group there.  He and Charlotte will be living very nearby in University housing and envision frequent evening meetings with veterinary students (enjoying Charlotte’s amazing cooking) and having discipleship meetings with CVF leaders and evangelistic meetings to invite others to become Christians.

They will also join forces with Ciprian and Kasha Iacob in the work they have established in Iasi and surrounding villages. We will help with their discipleship groups among young Romanians and Roma.  They also have contact with a number of young women who have had abortions and are suffering from guilt. Charlotte’s training with Crisis Pregnancy Center will help her minister to these young women.  Ciprian and Dan will travel throughout Romania and into Moldova and Bulgaria (probably Ukraine) to minister to and encourage practicing veterinarians and into the 3 other Romanian veterinary schools to encourage or establish CVF groups.  Dan and Charlotte will also join in the Iacob’s efforts to establish Hope Discipleship Center.  This will serve as a center for distributing goods to needy Romanian and refugees as well as a facility for discipleship training.

Our partners:

Dan will be seconded to the Facultatea de Medicina Veterinara din Iasi.  They are also partnering with dear friends, Ciprian and Kasha Iacob, who are missionaries with Avant Ministries.
