Dr. Corey & Kaethe Gallagher

Who We Are

Dr. Corey and Kaethe Gallagher serve in El Tizate, Orica, Honduras and the surrounding areas including Montana de la Flor, home of the indigenous Tolupan. They have a son, daughter and daughter-in-law. Corey earned a BS in Chemistry from U of M in 1997 and graduated from Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. They both came to Christ while Corey was in vet school and took their first short-term trip to Nicaragua in 2010.  In 2017 they took the long-term track at CVM’s Shortcourse and continued to pursue God’s leading in missions while running their vet clinic. Corey and Kaethe led and participated in numerous short-term trips with their two children to Nicaragua, Ghana, and Honduras. In 2022 after surrendering their plans to the Lord, He confirmed their calling and opened the door to long-term service in Honduras.

Their project name, "Workers, Approved" is based on 2 Tim 2:15: "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth."

Our Work

God has given the Gallaghers a vision to disciple and mobilize the Honduran Church to reach the unreached in countries that are closed to Americans. While working alongside Mission 9:22 with the goal of teaching, modeling and empowering, they will use veterinary medicine to further the work of the gospel in Honduras. Corey plans to provide veterinary services and integrate agriculture related community development projects in El Tizate, surrounding communities, and the region of Montana de la Flor.  Kaethe plans to use her love of bible study to come alongside the local church in discipling women and children. In an effort to reach the unreached, Corey and Kaethe will focus on building relationships and discipling others through teaching and mentoring, with the long-term goal of sending Hondurans out as “workers who correctly handle the word of truth” along with the skills of sustainable agriculture and animal health in order to help those in more remote villages and across the world.
