Who I Am

Dr. E. grew up in a Christian home in the farm country of Missouri. For as long as she can remember, God has given E. a passion for seeing human lives transformed through animal agriculture. This initially led her to pursue veterinary medicine, which evolved to veterinary missions after feeling the Lord lead her to long-term international service in high school. She became connected to CVM through a couple of short-term trips and the Mission Apprenticeship Program, which provided the opportunity to explore long-term work in Africa. E. received her DVM from the University of Missouri - Columbia and practiced mixed animal medicine in rural Missouri prior to launching for training and fieldwork.

My Work

Dr. E. will be working with a team whose vision is to see a church planted among an unreached, nomadic, Muslim people group in the Sahel. These nomads still practice a traditional lifestyle that is completely dependent on their cattle, sheep, goats, and camels. Nothing is closer to the nomadic heart than their herds, which makes veterinary medicine the perfect vehicle for initiating and maintaining relationships! E. will join her team in traveling to and with the nomads in order to build friendships, share the gospel, and partner with the Lord in seeing new believers grow in Him. The team hopes to use veterinary work such as basic herd health trainings, deworming campaigns, and vaccination programs as a platform for deepening relationships and sharing stories about the truth of Jesus.
