Small Animal (dog and cats)

Job Description: Northwest Veterinary Clinic of Stanwood offers routine wellness, sick patient care, urgent care, and surgery for dogs and cats. We have five doctors, one of whom treats small ruminants along with dogs and cats.  Students will be able to participate in wellness exams, sick animal examinations, routine and advanced dental procedures, and minor surgeries.  Students will also be able to participate in the daily case load at a level commensurate with their interest and training. The doctors and technicians will collaborate with them side by side in the treatment area, surgery, and exam rooms. Students will be asked to share with the staff their insights and knowledge they have gained while in veterinary school and about the cases currently in the hospital. During their externship, each student will be expected to make a presentation at a scheduled staff meeting on a topic or case of their choice.

Faith Integration: Although there is no strategy for integrating our faith within the daily activities of the clinic, we try to model Christian faith through actions with clients and with staff. We do have a mix of Christian and non-Christian veterinarians and staff. Our goal is to offer a practice that successfully combines differing religious views to provide quality care in a warm, caring environment where all staff also care for one another.
