Job Description:
We are a 4 doctor practice with large animal and small animal businesses working out of the same building. The farm animal side, Huntingdon Veterinary Service (HVS), is primarily dairy. We emphasize regular reproductive visits, nutrition reviews, ventilation management and calf care. We also work with beef, small ruminants and horses. We have a mix of commercial clients and backyard farmers. The small animal practice, Spruce Street Animal Clinic (SSAC), works with dogs and cats. HVS does primarily farm calls although we use the small animal facilities for small ruminant and small pig patients. We share lab equipment with SSAC: CBC, blood chemistry and an incubator. SSAC has a digital X ray and ultrasound. Our veterinarians are proficient with ultrasonography for cattle and pets. Your activity will depend on your interests and your prior experience. All of our farm clients are comfortable with students palpating and examining patients. We try to arrange small animal surgeries for your participation, after your observation and assistance in our clinic.
How do you integrate your faith in the workplace environment?
Our hope is that you would be able to learn from us as well as help others, including staff, clients and the rest of our community while being confident and comfortable in your relationship with Jesus. We welcome faith based questions in addition to veterinary questions.
