Job Description: Our view is our externs are Doctors and we are here to help them establish a solid foundation in our profession. Students involved in externships will accompany a doctor in the room. They will be able to take an active role in the cases. There will be a dialog of shared thoughts between the doctor and the externs. The students will also have an opportunity to improve their clinical skills- blood draws, IV catheterizations; radiographic techniques, etc. We perform an average of 3-4 dentistry procedures per day which they would be engaged in. We offer a wide variety of services including US and stem cell therapy. We also treat about 10% exotics.

Faith Integration: Faith is part of our daily walk. It is not uncommon for employees to hear me say "Praise the Lord" after working with a difficult problem. Many of my clients have been with me for years. If they are in life struggles, often I will pray with clients. Other times with clients that are believers we will talk about what the Lord is doing in our lives. While these are fun conversations, they often have an alternative purpose. Not all my staff are believers, so they are often present listening to these conversations. My goal in everything we do is to glorify the Lord. Our job is - To heal seldom, to treat often, to comfort always. I personally pray to be a blessing to someone every day. The question is how would faith be incorporated in your role? My prayer would be that you would learn to make faith part of every situation in practice from drawing blood to working with difficult people.
