Job Description:
We are a 3 doctor small animal practice. We provide an externship/preceptorship in accordance with the standards set forth by the Louisiana Board of Veterinary Medicine. Our goal is to provide real world experiences and training to enable the student to grow in his/her understanding of veterinary medicine. Externs will be exposed to all aspects of practice; including surgery, medicine, diagnostics, and business management. Externs will be expected to examine patients, create a problem list, offer differential diagnoses, and come up with a treatment plan (SOAP) as well as perform soft tissue, orthopedic, and dental surgeries alongside the overseeing DVM and communicate with clients. Basically, you will act as a small animal veterinarian while you are here with us.

The managing DVM, Dr. Moores is a committed believer in Christ. The concept of Colossians 3:23 as well as the Golden Rule is fundamental to how one approaches veterinary medicine. Dr. Moores also, if the student wishes, will provide Biblical instruction and discussion times during the externship program.

Housing is not provided onsite but we can help arrange/locate accomodations if needed. This externship is unpaid.
