Associate Veterinarian, Full-Time, Part-Time
Position: Associate Veterinarian
Salary: Negotiable
Well-established small animal exclusive practice seeking full or part-time associate--and a big plus if you have practice ownership in mind! Our single doctor practice has flourished under God's anointing in the beautiful mountains of Eastern Kentucky, and we are looking for a hardworking, Jesus-loving, growth minded, community-focused associate to come alongside us. No after-hours emergencies or on-call duty required. Dr Whitney has over 30 years of experience in vet med, over 20 as a veterinarian, and 15 as the owner of Valley Vet in her hometown. New graduates welcome--she would love to offer mentorship as well as the opportunity to learn fresh ideas and methods. Already established and looking for practice ownership? That opportunity is available as well. We are located in a highly visible, free-standing 3800sq ft facility, just off US 23, approximately nine miles south of Pikeville--home to the bustling Pikeville Medical Center community, the University of Pikeville and its associated medical, dental, and optometry colleges, and historically-rich and naturally beautiful landscape. Our area is diverse and vibrant, and the connection between our clinic and our community is something we cherish. We have excellent schools nearby and a strong local faith community. We truly feel that the sky is the limit as we allow God to lay out this next chapter of our journey!
Our practice has been described multiple times as "a ministry disguised as a vet clinic," and we wouldn't have it any other way! We put our faith first and ask the Lord to lead our clinic and its direction moving forward according to His will. We have loved the opportunity to openly share our faith with any and all who come under our roof and are thankful for the privilege of being able to pray with our clients and encourage them to share their needs with us as we build relationships that go beyond that of vet and client. We also look for opportunities to reach out beyond our walls into the community by supporting projects through local churches and schools, such as flood relief opportunities, Christmas gift and school supply drives for area students, and donating items and services for various fundraisers. One of our favorite outreach opportunities have been a free formal wear giveaway that we have been blessed to provide to area students for prom and homecoming for the last few years. We house donated dresses, suits, and accessories and allow the students to come try on and take a dream dress home at no charge to help provide for a family who may struggle to cover such an expense on their own. This has been a truly special blessing for us to be part of, as well as for those who donate to and support the project financially, and especially for the families and students who are able to take part in it. It is our goal to provide a work environment where our team can also be encouraged in the Word and feel like they have a faith community within the workplace. Veterinary medicine can be such a difficult setting at times, so we love to incorporate our faith in as many ways as possible, for it is truly Him who gives us the strength to run the race!
