Mixed Animal Practice

Job Description: 
Student has the flexibility to do a small animal or large animal externship. Large animal work is mostly dairy and beef cattle work. However, we do some equine, small ruminant, and swine work. The student can work with any of our 7 large animal doctors depending on what they want to see any given day. Great hands on palpating/ ultrasound practice opportunity. There are also plenty of opportunities for individual sick cow medicine and surgery; as well as herd level preventative medicine and consultation. Our clients are very receptive to students riding with us and getting involved in cases. We also have an in house milk quality lab.

Small animal includes general primary care, soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, laser therapy, and diagnostic imaging with digital radiography and ultrasound. We have a satellite small animal only clinic, so the student can choose to spend their time at either location depending on the cases coming in that day and what they want to be involved in.

Both small animal locations are very busy and there is no shortage of interesting cases!

How do you integrate your faith in the workplace environment?
The student is welcome to join our veterinarians in their church activities throughout the week and attend service with them on Sunday. We are open in our faith with our clients and strive to provide the most ethical, God honoring care.
