Farm Animal Refresher for Missions

Are you a small animal veterinarian, student, or technician who would like to go on a mission trip, but feel a bit rusty in your large animal and/or ministry skills?

Dr. Mary McDonald-- a Christian Veterinary Mission Associate who has served with CVM in Bolivia and Uganda teaching rural animal healthcare workshops-- invites you to attend her training in farm animal skills and evangelism. The training goes from Thursday afternoon until Sunday morning and is held on Dr. McDonald's farm in Catawba, Virginia (30 minutes from VA Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia and 30 minutes from the Roanoke, Virginia airport).

Topics include safe handling, restraint, vaccinating, de-worming, and basic animal husbandry of poultry, horses, goats, swine, and cattle-- animals often encountered in rural areas on short-term mission trips.

The course also incorporates cross-cultural training, how to share your faith, and how to write your testimony. FARM also covers how to design and teach animal healthcare courses in developing countries.
