John was born in Washington state and has resided there his entire life. During his senior year of high school he took an accounting class and fell in love with accounting. He graduated with a degree in accounting from Central Washington University in 1981 and passed the CPA exam in 1982. John’s professional career started at CRISTA Ministries in 1983. During that time he rose from a Finance Assistant to Vice President/Controller for CRISTA. In 2012 John moved to Northwest University and became the CFO, a position he held for 10 years. After retiring from that position he assisted Northwest with some accounting work and construction management. John ended his career at ECFA (Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability), serving for 18 months as a compliance associate. John is active in his church serving as an elder, treasurer and greeter. John and his wife Patty were married in 1979, they have two boys, two daughters-in-law, six grandchildren and a 15 year old cockapoo named Selah.
