Livestock Programs
By facilitating livestock development programs throughout Uganda, we seek to address the underlying causes of poverty, dependency, and malnutrition. By promoting a healthy livestock population, the community is strengthened and individuals are given the power to make a difference in their own lives. Ultimately, by addressing the physical needs of the people, relationships are built to address their spiritual needs.
While all these activities are organized through one of several local partner organizations (depending on the particular area), some activities are designed to directly benefit members of the local community (livestock revolving loans, vaccinations, teaching and demonstration) while others are intended to support that local partner organization to increase their capacity to impact the communities where they work (tentmaking and organizational livestock projects, training and consulting).
Other needs addressed by this special project:
- Community health needs, specifically Rabies control through domestic animal vaccination and community sensitization
