Uganda UGA20-05a Closed

May 1 - May 8

Three volunteers needed to help establish a community goat project among an unreached people group and provide support to a church plant!

Partnering with CVM staff workers in Uganda and local host, Calvary Chapel Kamwenge, volunteers will provide goat husbandry training to a community with no previous experience in livestock management, will help oversee the construction of a goat house, and provide basic preventative care (deworming, spraying, hoof trimming) for goats. Additional days will be spent in a separate community in support of a church plant to offer door-to-door visitation and/or implementing a livestock revolving loan group (training and animal distribution), which may also include work in a Congolese refugee camp.

Special considerations: This community is particularly challenging and requires volunteers with spiritual maturity to handle exposure to extreme poverty, high levels of community pressure, witchcraft and spiritual forces of evil, and working among a people group unreached by the gospel and with no cultural knowledge of livestock keeping. For these reasons, this trip requires volunteers who will submit to the in-country leader’s instructions and discretion in ministry decisions.

Dates are flexible through May and potentially April 2020.
