Katy Worley, a vet tech, from Georgia was given the opportunity to serve on her first short-term trip with CVM in October to Nepal.
Katy was kind enough to answer some questions for us!
Q: What do you wish you had known prior to this trip?
Katy: Unsure how to answer this; maybe I would have liked to have had a better idea of the temp/climate. But with that being said, I rather enjoyed the uncertainty of the trip as it allows you (one) to rely on God more.
Q: What was the most challenging aspect of your trip?
Katy: The language difference.
Q: Please share an encouraging story of an experience from your trip of something that impacted you or that you learned.
Katy: It is amazing to watch God work even when it is sometimes difficult to share His good news. The fact the initial host could not “host” this team and that another was able to, with open arms and even work within the same timeline as already scheduled, shows me that God is moving in a mighty way.
Q: How was your faith impacted as a result of your short-term missions service?
Katy: I had the opportunity to work beside some really great vets, but also, some really awesome Christians. And in sharing stories, makes me want to study the bible more so that maybe one day I can be as wise and knowledgeable as they were to me during those short few days. They didn’t even realized that they taught me different approaches to bible study and witnessing tools to better help me in my work environment and to grow into a stronger Christian.
Q: What next steps of faith is God calling you to as a result of this trip? How can CVM support, encourage, and equip you for these next steps?
Katy: The next steps of faith God is calling me to is, How can I be in better service to Him for the good of others. Whether it be in my every day life or in Missions.
A special thank you to Katy Worley for allowing us to share in a little piece of her journey to Nepal! May the Lord continue to use this experience to touch the lives of others.
