By: Stephen Cowden, CVM E-Learning Coordinator

CVM works hard to help veterinary professionals live out their faith through their vocation, both at home and on the mission field. We’re excited to develop interactive and informative online training for U.S-based vet professionals, short-term volunteers, and long-term fieldstaff and candidates. If you are part of one of these groups, you can access free resources on our e-learning site.

One of our priorities right now is making sure our short-termers are well prepared for their service. Our e-learning team has been hard at work, and we’ve already developed trip-specific training for select groups serving in Honduras, Nicaragua, and the United States. We’ll continue to add trip preparation for more locations in coming months. But volunteers don’t have to wait until their online trip preparation is ready—there are plenty of resources already available!

In fact, over 350 CVMers are already using CVM’s online learning. These learners represent 39 states in the U.S., 3 Canadian provinces, and an additional 12 countries. That’s the beauty of e-learning: You can use it anywhere, and you can learn at your own pace. Here is what short-term volunteers are saying about our courses:

  • “This course was really helpful and I would definitely continue courses like this for future mission trips.” –Joshua H.
  • “This course was great at letting me know what to expect in Nicaragua and getting me prepared for this trip. It also did a great job at helping me adjust to being home.” –Nicole B.
  • Hot- and Cold-Climate Cultures is a good basic introduction to hot and cold climate character with easy to follow information, questions, and applications that keep you engaged and involved.” –Mike M.

Visit our e-learning site, register yourself, and explore the Catalog of courses. We also offer free downloadable animal health resources, devotional series, and e-books in the Resources area of our site.

We are grateful for your faithfulness in answering God’s call to serve others, and we want to help you share Christ’s love with compassion and sensitivity.
