Exploring Cross-Cultural Veterinary Missions

What is Short Course?

Short Course is a learning and fellowship event for those exploring cross cultural veterinary missions.

We start with the foundation.
We will examine the biblical basis for missions and look to see how God's heart for the nations is displayed from Genesis to Revelation.  Then, we will begin to explore the great task that we have been called to participate in.

How are we doing? Ethnologists say there are 16,000 people groups in the world.  God wants people from all people groups worshipping around His throne but about 7,000 groups have no access to the Gospel. That’s 40%, or 2.3 billion people, who need to know the Good News.  At Short Course you will see that you have a part to play!  Jesus’ command to “Go into all the world…” requires those who go, others who send; it requires prayer warriors and financial supporters. It requires encouragers and mentors.

Who should attend Short Course?

  • Those who are exploring the process of going.
  • Those who are supporting and sending laborers in our Lord’s harvest.
  • Those who just love the fellowship and worshipping together with like-minded veterinary professionals and their families.

Come to Short Course.

We can help you on your journey.

Short-Term Missions Track
The Short-Term track provides information on how CVM hopes to do short-term missions well.  Discussions can include topics such as helping without hurting, current opportunities for service, how non-vets can serve, and setting healthy expectations.  By the end, we hope that you not only understand how you can work with CVM but that you are better equipped to do so as well.

Long-Term Missions Track

The Long-Term track provides an introduction to what serving in another country alongside CVM might look like.  Discussions will include a variety of topics like different types of ministry plans, how the budgeting/financial process works, how you are supported on the field, and risk and security planning.  The goal is to lay a foundation to work from so that we have a common understanding, and in case you are wondering, no you do not have to sign up for long-term service at the completion!

Community Development Post-Conference Workshop

The community development workshop will seek to equip participants to empower local communities to make relevant, lasting changes to both their physical and spiritual needs.  Discussions will include models for livestock-based development, working among vulnerable populations, and how to develop sustainability and resiliency in a community.  As an additional bonus, 5 hours of the training have been RACE approved for non-medical CE credits.
