CVM
& Cisco - "Unity" For a Better World
|
Community Voice Mail has just become the proud 2-time
recipient of the Washington Software Association's
"Outstanding Contribution to the Community" Award,
for our partnership with Cisco Systems to upgrade our technology,
increase our impact, and reduce costs nationwide.
CVM previously won this award in 2002.
The
Washington Software Association’s Industry Achievement
Awards celebrate companies which best demonstrate innovation
and excellence in technology.
"We
are proud to be working with Community Voice Mail to deliver
broad-based and cost-effective technology to meet this basic
need," says Kevin Chesnut, General
Manager of Cisco's Seattle Business Unit.
Community Voice
Mail is moving its current low-end voicemail system to the
Cisco "Unity" Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)
communications technology, to better provide 24-hour accessible
voice mail access to people in crisis and transition. A
big element of the partnership is to increase the impact
and reduce costs for CVM, while adding new features and
functionality.
The centralized voice mail system will cut down on support
costs and maintenance for the individual CVM organizations
around the country. Jennifer Brandon, CVM Executive Director,
notes, “People who distribute our programs and love
being out in the community can then concentrate on their
core strengths of being field agents and case workers,”
she said.
At
Cisco Systems and Community Voice Mail, “Unity”
means much more than a product group. It’s
a mindset.

National Executive Director receive the WSA 2004 Award.
