Homeless and unemployed men and women who don't have (or can't afford) regular telephone service routinely miss chances to get the things they need -- like housing, services and jobs that could make them economically self-sufficient -- because they cannot be reached when opportunity calls.
Most of us, all our lives, have taken the technology of telephone service for granted. Maybe we could find other ways to reach people, but how would they reach us? How difficult would it be to get things done? Even if we could still function, how would others react to us if they knew we didn't have telephone service?
Enter Community Voice Mail (CVM), an innovative and proven program offered by the Partnership for the Homeless that helps New Yorkers in need by providing FREE voice mail service-enabling them to arrange for job interviews, health care, and other basics of life.
The Partnership will be hosting a special CVM Kickoff Luncheon on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 to share the details about this lifesaving program. Satisfied clients will be on hand, and detailed program information will be available.
In these desperate economic times, CVM is more important than ever. We hope you'll find out more about the program and help us spread the word so that more New Yorkers can sign up for this free service.
Community Voice Mail levels the playing field for homeless and unemployed New Yorkers so that they can conduct the essential business of their lives. Please join us on March 31.
