Dr. E
Who I Am
Dr. E is a graduate of Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She first heard about CVM in undergraduate when she randomly google-searched "nomadic goat herder veterinarian missions" and CVM was the first search result. She had already felt a call towards missions but was not sure how her planned profession and heart for sharing the Gospel would be intertwined with international ministry. During veterinary school, Dr. E was able to step out in faith on several short-term trips, all of which shaped her and pointed her back towards surrendering to full-time cross-cultural ministry. Through the CVM apprenticeship program Dr. E was introduced to the region to which she is now called.
My Work
Alongside other field staff, Dr. E will be working to improve access to veterinary medicine for the improvement of both animal health and public health throughout the region. In an economy closely tied to the value of livestock for food production and transportation, improving animal health is closely tied to improved human health and builds relationships within the local communities. Both through and beyond these tangible and much-needed professional skills, she will also be supporting the work of church planters to both strengthen national churches and share the Good News among people groups with extremely limited access to the Gospel.
